NFC business cards for event networking in India

Heading to an exhibition, founder meetup or industry conference? Prepare one AltruistSpace profile with your company links, portfolio and contact options. Share it by NFC when the phone supports it, with a visible QR code as your fallback.

Choose QR first, NFC when it helps

  • A QR code opens your profile on phones with a compatible camera or scanner and internet access. NFC is an extra sharing option, not a requirement to participate.

  • Keep your company website, product page and portfolio together. Update the profile without changing a card that links to it.

  • A tap opens a link; it does not automatically identify the visitor or save a lead. A contact exchange needs a deliberate reveal or share-back submission.

  • Set an active event before attending. Saved exchanges can carry event context, and private notes help you remember what you discussed.

A practical exhibition networking checklist

Before attending: confirm registration, venue, hall and entry requirements on the organizer's official page. A networking card is not an entry pass.

For attendees: prepare a short introduction and one relevant link rather than asking everyone to browse your entire portfolio.

For exhibitors: make the QR easy to scan at the booth and send visitors to the relevant product or company link. Do not promise automatic team lead capture.

During a conversation: ask whether the person prefers a tap, QR scan or a link. Test the destination on another phone before the event.

When exchanging details: ask permission. Visitors can choose the no-signup share-back form instead of signing in to reveal gated contact details.

Afterwards: add a private note about the topic and agreed next step, then send a personal follow-up through the channel the person shared.

City by city: where events happen in India

These established exhibition venues are starting points for planning, not a list of scheduled events. Check the official venue and organizer pages for dates, halls and visitor access.

New Delhi

Check the hall and entry gate before meeting an exhibitor at Bharat Mandapam in the Pragati Maidan complex.

  • · Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan

Bengaluru

For BIEC visits, confirm the organizer's venue details and plan a meeting point before exchanging profile links.

  • · Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Tumkur Road

Mumbai

Use a relevant company or product link when introducing yourself at the NESCO exhibition complex in Goregaon East.

  • · Bombay Exhibition Centre, NESCO Complex

Hyderabad

At HITEX in Izzat Nagar, record the session or booth context alongside an agreed follow-up.

  • · HITEX Exhibition Centre

Keep your business details consistent

  • Use the same business name and city on your AltruistSpace profile and any legitimate business listing you already maintain.

  • If your business is eligible for a Google Business Profile, keep its website and contact details accurate. An online-only personal profile does not automatically qualify.

  • For the event, share the link that best answers the conversation: a company website, product referral or portfolio. Keep private contact fields separate from public links.

Set it up before your next event

  1. 1

    Prepare your digital card

Add your name, role and relevant links in the builder. Review which contact fields are gated before sharing.

  2. 2

Test the QR and NFC link

Keep a QR code visible on your card. Write your profile URL to an unlocked NFC tag using supported Android Chrome, or an NFC-writing app on iPhone. Safari cannot write NFC tags.

  3. 3

    Set the active event

Set the event in your account before attending. After an intentional contact exchange, add private context notes in My Contacts. Do not treat every tap as a captured lead.

No app for the other person

They tap your card or scan your QR code and your profile opens in their browser. Saving your contact takes one more tap.

Every exchange has context

Reveals are stamped with the active event and stored with private notes, so your follow-up message always lands with the story attached.

Frequently asked questions

Is the digital card free, or does an NFC card cost extra?

The AltruistSpace digital profile and QR are free while in beta. A physical NFC tag or printed card is separate; you can use the digital card without buying either.

Will NFC work on every phone at an Indian event?

No. NFC depends on the phone, its settings and tag format. Supported iPhones can read URL tags; Safari cannot write them. Keep a QR code and profile link available for phones that cannot tap.

Does tapping my card automatically capture a lead?

No. Opening a profile does not identify a visitor. They must deliberately exchange details, for example by signing in for a gated reveal or completing the no-signup share-back form.

Can I use one card for several exhibitions?

Yes, if the QR or NFC tag points to your live profile URL. Update the profile links and active event before the next exhibition rather than reprinting the same URL.

Can I buy a printed AltruistSpace card in India?

Yes. Members can choose a PVC or NFC card in Order Cards. Checkout uses their saved digital card design and delivery is limited to India. Review the current price and delivery details before paying.
